Toxic Materials and Electronics Recycling Drop-off
April 14 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Saturday, April 14th @ 9 AM – 2 PM
The Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission will be partnering with the City of Waterloo to provide a toxic materials and electronics recycling drop-off for all Black Hawk County households. This event will be held at the Waterloo Waste Water Treatment Plant (3505 Easton Avenue). *Some fees may apply for certain electronics. No paint, motor oil, antifreeze, appliances, or business waste of any type will be accepted. Visit http://wastetrac.org/spring-drop-off-event/ for details and a listing of accepted materials.
Approximately 60 volunteers will be assisting with this 5 hour event. From directing traffic and surveying participants to unloading chemicals and electronic items from participants’ vehicles, volunteers make this event possible! Groups and individuals interested in volunteering should contact Tammy Turner at 266-TRAC (8722) or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteer details can be found at http://wastetrac.org/volunteer/.
During a similar event last fall (in Cedar Falls), volunteers unloaded 29.4 tons (+58,800 pounds) of electronics from 955 vehicles during the 5 hour event!
