Waterloo Council Votes For March Date for Ward 4 Seat Vote

Vote Will Be In Tandem With HCC Bond Referendum

Last night, the Waterloo City Council voted 6-0, with councilman John Chiles absent, to hold a special election on March 7th to fill the Ward 4 seat being vacated by councilman Jerome Amos, who will be leaving to join the Iowa House next week. The special election will be held at the same time as Hawkeye Community College’s $35 million bond referendum, to help save the city money. Waterloo resident Todd Obadal was forceably removed from the chambers by police after he continually interrupted Mayor Quentin Hart during public comment on the special election.
