One Killed, One Injured in Bremer County Crash

One person was killed and another injured after a two-vehicle crash in rural Sumner Sunday afternoon. It happened on Viking Avenue and 190^th Street just after 3:00 PM. The Iowa State Patrol said 22-year-old Carter Harris of St. Cloud, Florida, was eastbound on 190th, as 22-year-old Derrius Taylor-Ly of Altoona was northbound on Viking. Harris ran a stop sign and crashed into Taylor-Ly’s car. Both cars ended up in a ditch. Taylor-Ly was pronounced dead at the scene. Harris was taken to the Sumner hospital with minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
