Semi Driver Arrested After Crash in Waterloo

Waterloo Police say a semi driver’s been arrested in connection with a crash Monday night that littered northbound I-380 with watermelon. The semi was coming to the Mitchell Avenue intersection around 10:30PM when the semi driver, identified as Andriy Koshmak, of North Port, Florida, lost control of the rig and eventually rolled onto its side. The trailer had split open after hitting a sign post.  Koshmak was charged with first offense OWI, after an preliminary breath test showed he was over the legal limit. His bond was set at $2,000. It took several hours for the debris on the roadway to be cleaned up.
