Cedar Falls Fire Chief Bostwick Honored at Retirement Reception

Served Through The Ranks for 42 Years

Cedar Falls Fire Chief John Bostwick was honored at a community reception yesterday on his retirement after serving over forty years with the city. During his 42 years serving the city of Cedar Falls, Bostwick moved through the ranks serving as a firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, and Fire Chief.  Bostwick says he’s loved working as a firefighter.

Bostwick talks about some of the projects and programs he’s most proud of.

Bostwick also shared a fun part of being a firefighter.

Summing up, Bostwick says it’s been a great career.

Bostwick will remain with the city as a consultant until next April and assist with the transition for new Fire Chief John Zolondek. He says he and his family will remain in the area afterward.
