Water Restored to Evansdale; Boil Advisory Continues

As of 3:00 PM Thursday, water has been restored to everyone in Evansdale. A water main break occurred at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Lafayette Road earlier Thursday morning, causing the two schools in town, Poyner Elementary and Bunger Middle School to be closed for the rest of the day.  As a reminder, the water boil advisory remains in place and updates will be provided as city officials receive them. Water to be consumed should be boiled for 2-3 minutes, then letting it cool prior to use. At that point you can use it or place in your refrigerator to use later. Use boiled water for drinking, cooking, brushing your teeth, making coffee and ice cubes, etc. You can shower or bathe as long as you don’t get water in your mouth. If you have enough water pressure to use your dishwasher, you can wash your dishes if the final rinse temperature reaches 150 degrees or more, or if it has a sanitizing cycle. You may also choose to use bottled water from your emergency kit.  The city of Evansdale tells its residents they appreciate their patience during this time.
