Zolondek Named Cedar Falls Fire Chief

John Zolondek was officially named the new Cedar Falls fire chief during Monday night’s City Council meeting. He was the acting Cedar Falls Fire Chief after replacing retired Fire Chief John Bostwick. Zolondek has been with Cedar Falls Public Safety since 2007. The unanimous vote came after Mayor Rob Green, City Administrator Ron Gaines, and Public Safety Director Craig Berte recommended Zolondek’s appointment. A formal swearing in ceremony will take place at a later date.
