Today’s show

From today’s show, The bargain-hunting website Slick Deals found that Americans are OK with pinching pennies on hand soap, dish soap, paper towels, wine, eating out, casual shirts, small household appliances, jeans, dress pants, dresses, socks, handbags, sunglasses, belts, jewelry, produce, bread, cheese, butter, chips/snacks, spaghetti sauce, beer, bottled water, milk, over the counter medicine, sunscreen, razors, cooking supplies, soda, shampoo, cereal, pizza, garbage bags. BUT WE SPLURGE ONÂ toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrush, skincare, coffee, dress shirts, shoes, large household appliances, laptops/computers, smartphones, coats, facial creams/cleansers, TVs and TV audio, pet food, laundry detergent, bed, couches/chairs, makeup.
To be honest with you, I love deals. When I shop, I go to the stores that have the best discounts. Used and consignment shops are my absolute favorite. My entire wardrobe is primarily second hand, so when I see a story like the one above, it resonates with me, and I agree 100% (with the exception of the dress shirts…I have a few second hand shirts that look and wear like new, but I paid pennies on the dollar for them). Trust me – you go on a shopping trip with me, be prepared to bring home a good sized haul of merchandise, but never fear, your budget will still be fine!
I also wanted to pass this along. It gave me a bit of a laugh, and I am sure it will brighten up your day as well:
