Crawley Pleads Not Guilty

A man accused of killing another man in a Waterloo shooting last month has pleaded not guilty. The attorney for 32-year-old Corey Crawley filed a written arraignment on his behalf Monday, waiving his right to appear in court, as well as his right to a speedy trial. Crawley pleaded not guilty to all three charges against him, including first-degree murder. On September 2nd, Waterloo Police were called to a shooting in progress near Lincoln Park. Officers found Muharrum Quan Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died of his injuries at an area hospital. Crawley was apprehended last month in Scott County. He remains in the Black Hawk County Jail under $1 million bond.
