As part of the annual Hams for the Holidays campaign, Hy-Vee employees will join with local first responders and food pantry volunteers to distribute 570 Hormel hams at the Crossroads Hy-Vee in Waterloo next Tuesday, December 12th. The event to benefit families in need will start at 3PM and will continue until 5PM or until they run out of hams. Now in its sixth year, Hams for the Holidays is a collaborative effort with Hormel Foods to help fight food insecurity in communities served by Hy-Vee stores. The Waterloo Crossroads Hy-Vee location is one of 10 stops that Hy-Vee is making across its eight-state region delivering 5,000 total hams. Hy-Vee officials stress that these hams will be available on a first come, first served basis and do sell out fast.Â
