We have all met, or have been influenced by people in all walks of life. Some are important, some are influential, and some are just simply cool. I mean Fonzie mixed with Sinatra type of cool. I have to admit that I really had to struggle with this question. Of people I have met, I would consider Mike Love of the Beach Boys cool. As a lifelong Denver Broncos fan, I have to say that #7 himself, John Elway is exceptionally cool. But, when it is all said and done, as a railroad enthusiast, My vote for the coolest person alive would be Ed Dickens. He is the engineer and caretaker of Union Pacific 4014. The world’s largest operating steam locomotive. In my eyes, that man is the epitome of cool. Just look at him…is that cool, or what?
