The internet can come up with some pretty impressive lists, and here is one of my absolute favorites. It is almost poetic in it’s simplicity.
Here’s how to uncomplicate your life:
• Missing somebody? Call.
• Wanna meet up? Invite.
• Wanna be understood? Explain.
• Have questions? Ask.
• Don’t like something? Say it.
• Like something? State it.
• Want something? Ask for it.
Told you it was pretty impressive. Now, go out and do your best to uncomplicate your life!
And from the inspirational to the downright silly ….
BAD BOSSES _ What’s your bad boss story?
• Every day I spend most of my lunch break walking at a nearby park, eating a sandwich as I try to get in my 10,000 steps. One day my boss asked if, once a week, I’d take a small potted plant he keeps on his desk with me to the park once or twice a week.
• Once a month my hotshot boss takes his small staff our for drinks after work. Every few months he claims he has to leave early and looks to me to pick up the tab. When I ask him to be reimbursed he says there’s no budget for social events!
• On at least two occasions when my boss has left the office before me, he’s ‘borrowed’ my umbrella to stay dry in the rain — and never brought the umbrella back to me.
• We have an honor system beverage fridge in our break room. Take a juice or soda out, put a buck in the can. At least once a day my boss asks me to get him a soda — but never offers to pay me back the dollar I paid for it.
I’ll bet we all have a bad boss story. I would tell you mine, but the boss reads this blog, and I really want to remain gainfully employed.
