Buchanan County Man Dies After Lawnmower Accident

A man was pronounced dead after being pinned under a lawnmower near Jesup Thursday afternoon. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1100 block of 160th Street, north of Jesup, just before 1PM.  Sheriff’s deputies say the man was attempting to load a commercial grade lawn mower onto a trailer. However, it tipped off of the side of the trailer and rolled upside down, pinning the man. First responders were able to remove the man from underneath and provide life-saving measures, but he was ultimately pronounced dead. The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family. The sheriff’s office was assisted by Jesup Fire and Ambulance.
