Cedar Falls Public Safety Taking Part in Pink Patch Project
Project Raises Awareness and Funds for Breast Cancer Research

Cedar Falls Public Safety is participating in The Pink Patch Project next month to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The nationwide initiative, launched by the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs’ Association, involves over 390 public safety agencies. Throughout the month of October, public safety personnel will wear bright pink patches on their uniforms to encourage discussions about early detection and treatment of breast cancer. A police SUV will also be decorated with pink stripes and a pink ribbon.
To raise funds, the department will sell pink patches for $10 and Beyond Pink TEAM shirts: short-sleeve t-shirts for $20, long-sleeve shirts for $25, and hooded sweatshirts for $30. Sizes range from small to 4XL and are available in gray. Pink Fire and Police patches are $10. Patches and shirts can be purchased via cash, check, or card at the Public Safety Center at 4600 South Main Street, in Cedar Falls. All proceeds will be donated to the local Beyond Pink TEAM.
