Some of these skills I still need to learn …

SKILLS EVERYONE SHOULD LEARN BEFORE TURNING 30:
• Swimming — it’s crazy how many adults who regularly surround themselves with water cannot swim.
• Basic financial literacy — budgeting, investing, avoiding debt traps.
• How to say no as a complete sentence — you don’t owe anyone an explanation, and you shouldn’t say yes to everything or you’ll burn out.
• How to be a decent person — a skill that is mostly forgotten today.
• Reading comprehension, basic logic and critical thinking.
• Basic cooking — being able to cook four or five proper dishes since you need to eat every day.
• Basic DIY/home maintenance — being able to do the bare minimum around the house and avoid being scammed by people doing things for you.
• How to manage your emotions — emotional control and mastering how you react is more valuable than any technical skill.
• Basic auto maintenance — how to find tire pressure, inflate tires, change a wheel, check oil, top up fluids.
• Basic etiquette and social skills — listening, holding a conversation, being polite.
• First aid or basic wound care — knowing what to do when something goes wrong beyond just calling 911.
• How to cook something delicious with whatever you have on hand — not just following recipes, but improvising.
• Digital hygiene — knowing how to spot scams, protect your data, and avoid oversharing online.
• Stress management — practical ways to calm yourself, set boundaries, and avoid spiraling.
• Time and task management — prioritizing, planning ahead, and not letting life pile up on you.
• How to apologize — sincerely taking accountability without excuses or defensiveness.
• Understanding healthcare basics — reading insurance, knowing your meds, and when a doctor is necessary.

WEARING YOUR MAN’S CLOTHES IS GOOD FOR YOU _ Your man’s clothes can be the perfect thing to wear when you are in need of some comfort. And there’s some science behind the idea. Researchers (University of British Columbia) say that wearing something with your partner’s scent on it reduces stress, loneliness and anxiety. The study involved 96 women who were randomly assigned to smell one of three scents: their romantic partner’s, a stranger’s, or a neutral scent. The partners were asked to wear a T-shirt for 24 hours and then it was frozen to retain the smell. The scientists then measured stress and cortisol levels throughout tests such as a mock interview. They found the group who were given their partner’s scent had lower stress levels but those who smelled the T-shirts worn by a stranger were significantly more stressed.

WHAT IN WEDDINGS MAKES YOU CRINGE?  The internet says…
• Guests who take pictures of the ceremony with an iPad.
• When some else proposes to their significant other. Why take all the attention from the bride and groom?
• The thing where the groom and groomsmen all remove their jackets, undo their ties and roll up their sleeves the minute they walk into the reception. Hey, some of us want classy photos… what’s the rush in getting into party mode?
• The garter removal.
• The garter toss. It’s outdated, gross and awkward.
