Expand your palette, expand your luck

COLORS CAN IMPROVE YOUR LUCK _ According to Chinese philosophers, adding more color to your environment can make you happier, healthier and wealthier. Here are the ones to focus on.
• Green: Place lots of green, leafy plants along the right side of your living room to encourage a healthy family.
• Yellow: This color is supposed to be great for health and healing. Yun says put a round, golden candle in the center of the room for instant harmony.
• Blue: Put a blue trinket in the left corner of your office the one near the door when you walk in. This’ll give you a boost of brainpower.
• Red. Put a red lamp in the far right corner of your bedroom to attract a partner or to invite fertility.
• Purple. To attract abundance, put a tall purple vase, or some purple flowers, in the far left corner of your workspace.

UNWRITTEN RULES YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST FOLLOW IN LIFE
• “Don’t ask for something if the person only has one left — gum, cigarette, piece of cake etc.”
• “Buy a plunger before you need a plunger.”
• “If you use up all of the toilet paper, you go refill it.”
• “If you borrow someone’s car, fill up the tank before you return it.”
• “When out to dinner with a group, only the person who ordered the least expensive meal/combo of things can offer to split the check evenly.”
• “Don’t put your music on speakers when in a public space. It’s not like everyone wants the same genre or was in the mood for music. Get your headphones.”
• “Don’t start drama at a funeral.”

MARRIAGE ADVICE I WISH I’D LISTENED TO _ Hattie shared on social media the marriage advice she’d listened to. She’s been married and divorced twice. After 54 years of life and two divorces, I’ve learned some hard-earned lessons about marriage. While I once believed love conquered all, experience has taught me otherwise. Here are the insights I wish someone had shared with me before I said “I do.”
• Love is not enough
• Marry for character, not just chemistry.
• You’re not just marrying them — you’re marrying their habits, their debt, and their family drama.
• Marriage doesn’t fix loneliness. If anything, the wrong person will make your loneliness worse.
• You can’t marry potential. You’re not a life coach, you’re a spouse. Love them for who they are today, not who you hope they’ll become.
• Being alone is way better than wishing you were.
• The right person will make you feel safe. The wrong one will make you feel small.
• “We’ll figure it out” is not a financial plan.
• You should be excited to marry them, not just relieved that they finally committed.
