Cedar Falls High School sophomore Charlee Gall won the girls 3000 meters at the Drake Relays yesterday in Des Moines.
It’s the second consecutive year Gall has won the event.
She stayed back in the pack early, began moving up at the halfway point and pulled away over the final three laps to win in 9:34.75 and become the state-leader in the event.
The time broke her own school record and is the fifth-fastest time ever from an Iowa prep at the Drake Relays.
