WOULD YOU VISIT A BARBER TO SHAVE YOUR LEGS? _ Question for the women in my audience: Would you visit a barber to shave your legs? In the early 1970s, an unusual grooming trend briefly emerged: barbers offering to shave women’s legs. The trend was inspired in part by the popularity of miniskirts and hot pants. One Iowa barber, Al Thompson, even turned it into a side business — earning extra income and national attention when the story became one of the very first features on NPR’s All Things Considered, which debuted in 1971. The novelty sparked curiosity but also pushback, with groups like the Massachusetts Board of Registered Barbers attempting to ban the practice. Despite the buzz, the idea never fully caught on, as most women preferred shaving at home or turning to waxing salons.

WHAT IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS LIE YOUR PARENTS TOLD YOU? Some comments on reddit:
• That my siblings and I had a sister named Alice. Apparently she wouldn’t stop talking in the car so they dropped her off on the side of the road. We never spoke on road trips ever again.
• That it’s illegal to turn the interior light on in the car while driving.
• That if I didn’t brush my teeth, tiny teeth goblins would sneak into my room at night and pull out my teeth while I slept.
• That my eyes turn orange when I lied. So I covered my eyes when I lied so my mom couldn’t see them turn orange.
