Kayakers Rescued From Cedar River in Cedar Falls

Kayak Overturned in River Tuesday Night

Two kayakers were rescued after their kayak overturned in the Cedar River in Cedar Falls Tuesday night.  Cedar Falls Public Safety was called to the First Street Bridge around 6:00PM on that report.  Officers located two people on a large log in the river who eventually had to be rescued with a high angle rope from the bridge, due to the terrain and river conditions. The unidentified kayakers were uninjured, and their kayak was recovered downstream.  Both kayakers were wearing life jackets.
