Kevin Halladey Faces Mandatory Life In Prison When Sentenced

A Grundy County man charged in the 2021 murder of his girlfriend has been convicted of first degree murder. 42-year old Kevin Halladey was charged in the death of 41-year old Christian “Chrissi” Jeys. She was found unresponsive at her home in Reinbeck on December 16, 2021. Halladey was taken into custody that day for the assault on Jeys and on her teenage daughter. Jeys died of her injuries around a week later. Halladey was not formally charged in the investigation until a year later. Conviction of first-degree murder in Iowa carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. Halladey’s sentencing date has yet to be determined.
