Area Cooling Centers Established

Because of the hot temperatures expected over the next several days, several cooling centers have been established.

In Cedar Falls:  Cedar Falls Public Library, 524 Main Street, Open Monday-Wednesday, 10:00AM-9:00PM;  The Hearst Center for the Arts, 304 West Seerley Boulevard, Open Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00AM-9:00PM, Wednesday and Friday 10:00AM-5:00PM; Cedar Falls Visitor Center, 6510 Hudson Road, Open Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM;  Cedar Falls Public Safety – Training Room, 4600 South Main Street, Open 24-7.

In Waterloo: the Main Building of the Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls, 89 Franklin Street, Open Monday-Thursday 9:00AM-3:00PM, Friday 9:00AM-12:30PM.  Cedar Valley SportsPlex Pool, 300 Jefferson Street, Open Tuesday-Thursday 1:00PM-3:45PM, Saturday 12:30PM-2:30PM;  Mark’s Park Spray Pad, Open daily 9:00AM-9:00PM (for ages 12-under); Young Arena, 125 Commercial Street, Open Thursday and Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM; Waterloo Center for the Arts, Open Tuesday-Friday 10:00AM-5:00PM;  Waterloo Regional Airport, Open Daily 7:00AM-10:00PM: Waterloo Public Library, Open Monday-Thursday 9:00AM-8:00PM; Friday and Saturday, 9:00AM-5:00PM.
