Cedar Falls Fisherman Rescued After Falling Through Ice

Cedar Falls Public Safety were able to rescue an unidentified fisherman who fell through the ice Tuesday afternoon.  Cedar Falls Fire Chief John Zolondek says Public Safety was dispatched to Prairie Lake Park, 1600 W. Viking Road, for a person who fell through the ice. Dispatch received a call of a fisherman in the water yelling for help. Officers on patrol arrived just before the fire units and assisted in the rescue. The fisherman was quickly rescued and taken to an hospital. No names have been released nor has any condition report been made. Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch, and MercyOne Paramedics assisted in the water rescue.
