A Readlyn man was arrested after running a stop sign and crashing into another car on Friday afternoon. The crash occurred just before 3 PM north of Waterloo along US Highway 63 at East Cedar Wapsi Road. The Iowa State Patrol says 45-year old Matthew Matthias was approaching a stop sign facing east when he failed to stop at the stop sign while crossing Hwy 63 and was hit by another car driven by 60-year old Charles Stone of Cedar Rapids. Both Charles Stone and his passenger, Lily Stone, were taken to UnityPoint-Allen Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time. Matthias was charged with OWI and failure to yield. The accident remains under investigation.
