The Cedar Valley will be well represented at the high school State Wrestling Tournament this week as several area athletes qualified for state following District action Saturday.
Among Metro teams;
Cedar Falls qualified five wrestlers,
Waterloo East qualified three wrestlers including Max Magayna, who is seeking to become a four-time state champ
And Waterloo Columbus Catholic heavyweight Mason Knipp qualified for state.
Perennial powers, Waverly-Shell Rock and Don Bosco are again bringing big numbers. The Go-Hawks qualified 11 wrestlers, while Don Bosco qualified 10.
Other area schools bringing a large contingent include Jesup with nine wrestlers and Wapsie Valley with eight.
