Day 3 of the 2024 High School State Wrestling Tournament begins today

Action continued yesterday at the 2024 High School State Wrestling Tournament in Des Moines with quarterfinal and consolation matches taking place in all three classes.

In Class 1A,

Defending state champion Don Bosco is the team leader with 50-1/2 points, while Wilton is second with 45-1/2 and Jesup is third with 31 points.

Don Bosco has six wrestlers competing today in the semifinals.

In Class 2A,

Osage is in first-place with 62-1/2 points. Union is in sixth-place with 42. Union has three wrestlers in the semifinals.

In Class 3A,

Southeast Polk has a firm grip on first-place with 116-1/2 points. Waverly-Shell Rock is tied for seventh with 57.  The Go-Hawks have four wrestlers competing in today’s semifinals.

Among all classes there are three Metro wrestlers competing in today’s semifinals. Waterloo East’s Max Magayna at 175 in 3A, Cedar Falls’ Drew Campbell at heavyweight in 3A and Waterloo Columbus’ Mason Knipp at heavyweight in 1A.
