6-seed Bettendorf never trailed as it defeated 3–seed Cedar Falls, 65-56, in a Class 4A Quarterfinal today at the boys State Basketball Tournament in Des Moines.
The Bulldogs hit 56-percent of their shots as they raced out to a 32-18 halftime lead. Bettendorf led by as many as 19 points in the third quarter.
The Tigers struggled shooting, finishing 7-39 from three.
Cedar Falls was led Anthony Galvin’s 13 points.
The loss snapped a 9-game winning streak for the Tigers, who finish their season 20-4.
