Hudson defeats Grundy Center, 55-51, in 2A boys basketball State Tournament Quarterfinal

Hudson rallied late to edge Grundy Center, 55-51, in a Class 2A State Tournament Quarterfinal earlier today. 

7-seed Grundy Center held a 29-23 lead at halftime, and led 41-36 going into the 4th quarter. 

Hudson battled back in the final quarter, hitting clutch free throws down the stretch to hang on for the win.

The 2-seed Pirates were led by Michael Tanner’s 21 points, while Camden Davis added 16. Jalen Kirkpatrick led Grundy Center with 18 points.

The Spartans end their season at 20-4, while Hudson improves to 24-2 overall.

The Pirates will take on Unity Christian Thursday at 12:15pm in a Class 2A State Tournament Semifinal. Listen to the game on The Fan. Pregame coverage begins at Noon Thursday.
